Lock and Dam No. 5
Constructed in 1935
This engineering marvel is adjacent to Bass Camp and is a few short footsteps away. Constructed in 1935, Lock and Dam No. 5 is a 1,619 foot long concrete structure that stretches across the Mississippi. There are viewing platforms and restrooms open to the public from dawn until dusk. Come see the many pleasure craft, commercial barges, and, if you lucky one of the famed paddle boats lock through the dam.
